Abstract
The circadian system drives daily rhythms in physiological processes across virtually every organ. In this talk, I will discuss several opportunities for integrating our knowledge of circadian biology into hospital settings to improve patient outcomes as well as the health and wellbeing of the many healthcare workers working outside conventional hours. Drawing from studies in night shift workers, newborns, and hospitalized patients, I will illustrate how circadian biology can move from fundamental insights towards practical applications in health care.
